Healthy Snacks for Working Actors
Long hours rehearsing or on set, not much time to eat a full meal but need some go to snacks that keep you fuller for longer, increase your energy and stamina, enhance memory and concentration. None of those sugar and energy crashes from snacking on the wrong foods. I got you!
You can make all of these ahead of time and take them with you.

Boiled Eggs with spinach, lemon and smoked salmon or avocado
Slice of frittata, link to recipe
Yoghurt with berries, almond butter and cinnamon
Dark chocolate with brazil nuts - Dark chocolate can help give you a boost, it helps with cognition and memory, it also increases mood, energy and stamina. Pairing with some brazil nuts will lower the glucose spike of a sugary treat, meaning no energy dips later on.
Cheese with selection of carrot, cucumber and pepper sticks - A high protein snack to keep you satiated for longer and a great way to sneak in some of your rainbow coloured vegetables for the day.
Biltong or Jerky, here are my favourite brands with no sugar. - One of my favourites snacks as its pure protein, super tasty and nutritious.
Olives -
Seaweed Crisps - great when you are craving a salty treat but want a healthier alternative than crisps, these crispy seaweed bites are super tasty and help support thyroid health.
Protein Shake - our protein requirements increase when we are active all day so ensuring you are getting enough protein is key.
Apple or Banana with Almond Butter
